College Graduate Pay in the U.S.: |
| MIT recently published a report on the starting salaries for the 1999 graduates in engineering (electrical/mechanical/physics/aeronautics,etc): |

"starting slaries for MIT graduates '99 in engineering for PhD is $70-90k; for Master's is $55-70k; and those with Bachelor's degree is $45-54k" Also, the recent "brain drain" in the law profession caused by the best and the brightest law school graduates seeking high-paying internet start-up venture companies, have prompted several big-name law firms in San Francisco to now offer $140,000 as a starting annual salary! It is thought that this is the only way to keep up with the competition in the traditional professions who are quickly losing young employees rushing to the rising tide of the "dot.com" market. |
